As the mom of eight children….yes, I said eight! My husband and I each had a daughter from our first marriages and decided we wanted to adopt a son, so we adopted six! All still home! That’s 24 loads of laundry, tons of food and lots of mileage on the vehicles for sports, school and appointments!
The inspiration behind my children’s stories comes from our journey into multi-cultural adoptions. As my children growing up it was hard to find elementary level stories not only for them to read, but relate to as well. There were social issues to deal with, adoption and then there was the family dynamic. I decided to change that in March 2013, when I wrote my first children’s book series, Happy Valley Glen: The Otter Family Moves In. And as they say…the rest is history.
I also invite you to stop by our 8zenuff Family blog located on this page and experience some of the antics that can happen in a large, multi-cultural, blended and homeschooled family. There is Dysfunctional Wednesdays and Juliusism Sundays!
Once again, thank you for stopping by and feel free to look around.
